frequently asked questions

1. WHAT IS PERSONAL FACTORY?

Personal Factory is a company that operates mainly in the chemical industry for construction by providing relevant chemical compounds for the production of dry mortars with the Origami 5 plant.
Personal Factory designs and builds the technology platform (Origami 5), provides business consulting and technical services in branding, marketing and lab research. It works in the areas of services, mechanics, electronics, chemistry and computer science.

2. WHAT IS ORIGAMI 5?

Origami 5 is the production plant, patented and manufactured by Personal Factory. It is a unique and totally innovative production technology. Origami 5, in only 6 square meters, saves raw materials, doses them, mixes them with the chemical compound, bags it all, tracks the entire production down to a single bag, makes sure there are no errors in the production and maintain the platform of the product certification.

3. WHICH PRODUCTS CAN I PRODUCE?

Virtually all powder products that are referred, as chemicals for the construction industry, namely adhesives, grouts, repair mortars, thick plasters, coloured finish plasters, thermal plasters, ecological plasters, self-leveling flooring, waterproofing and cement sheaths, screeds, products for printed concrete and many other special products.

4. CAN I PRODUCE CE MARKED PRODUCTS?

Yes. The Personal Factory, thanks to its revolutionary production system, remotely controls production of each plant at each stage, managing to track the production process of each bag. This, together with a consultancy service to ensure a specification standard, allows to have the CE mark and the appropriate certifications.

5. WHAT DO I NEED TO BECOME A PRODUCER?

A minimum space to install the system easily (approximately 100/150 square meters), a forklift able to lift 2 tons at about 5 m, a connection for compressed air and an internet connection. In addition, of course, one must acquire the raw materials, which, usually, are cement and selected aggregates. We do the rest.

6. CAN I DO A RESEARCH?

Yes. Who enter to become a part of the Personal Factory system, would experience the laboratories that work constantly to support the Origami 5 user to develop products accordingly to the specific requirements of Personal Factory's customer, which can create new types of chemicals for construction or improve or customize the existing products. All this would be offered for free.

7. CAN I HAVE AN AREA OF EXCLUSIVITY?

Yes. The Origami 5 plant is actually a factory for the production of chemicals for construction and, therefore, those who enter in the Personal Factory, would have a broad zone of exclusivity and territorial autonomy, where other Origami 5 plants would not be installed.

8. WHAT IS A CLOUD MANUFACTURING?

Not just information or applications but the industrial processes which get ended in the network. A dematerialization of a manufacturing process applied to the machines. Men and machines, working in the same process of industrial production, in the distance of thousands of miles apart, are able to act as if they would work shoulder to shoulder. It's as if your plant was in our labs.

9. WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT DO WE OFFER?

Who becomes a part of our partnership network will benefit from:
• Support of finished products with a chemical free development kit for special products for a lifetime period (of course, we would evaluate for each case separatly what would be technically feasible), sales and service of chemical kits for a lifetime period;
• Support of a brand management and certifications;
• Discounts for printing your informative material.

10. SHOULD I BECOME A PART OF THE NETWORK?

For a small producer, disconnected from a network, to produce products with a complex formula is impossible to manage. Let's take an example of PAVIMIX formula: it consists about 20 chemical compounds, most of which have a dose between 50 and 200 grams per 100 kg of finished product. To handle this compound you must have commercial relations with 9 states (Switzerland, Mexico, Netherlands, China, Japan, Germany, Italy, Spain, USA) in different currencies. Often a minimum order varies from 1,000 kg to 30,000 kg of products that are very expensive. Some of these components cannot be used alone, but require treatments as micronization or surface treatment, or pre-mixing with each other. This activity involves fixed assets and capital costs of research and development that are intractable for a small producer.
The Personal Factory system distributes these charges on dozens of small producers, thus sharing the costs.
